A renter-heavy city
About 67% of North Chicago homes are rented, the highest share of the towns we cover, and about 28% of units are in buildings with five or more apartments (Census ACS 2020-2024). About 45% of homes were built before 1970. That makes apartment turnovers, move-outs and single bulky items the most common jobs, along with basement cleanouts in older houses.
What LRS bulk pickup covers
LRS collects one bulk item per week at no charge, and you must call to schedule it. Mattresses must be fully wrapped in plastic. Pianos, sleeper sofas and large entertainment centers count as special collections.
Landlords and property managers
One free item a week does not clear a unit between tenants. A crew can usually take everything in one visit. A room-by-room list and the move-out date help the crew give a firm price. If you manage several units, ask about consistent pricing.
How the referral works
Tell us what needs to go by form or phone. We pass it to one independent crew that serves North Chicago, and they contact you to confirm a price. We are a referral service, not a hauler, and the referral is free.
